Our Story
The logistics sector never stands still and neither do we! Every day we explore the possibilities to imrpove ourselves. With our personal approach, unique service and innovative solutions, you are assured of the most optimal standard system for handling all imaginable customs processes.
1980
In 1980, Jack Merkx and Mera Hoornweg started Gateway Software. Jack took inspiration from his own experience with logistics software to do things differently.
The First 10 Years
For the first 10 years, Gateway provided tailor-made services and consultancy, focussing on shipping. Based in Rotterdam and with a background in shipping, Gateway mainly focused on software for shipping companies, shipbrokers, forwarders and container terminals.
The Early 90's
In the early 1990s, Gateway specialized in customs, warehousing and forwarding software.
Around 1995
Around 1995, the software was standardized and the package was renamed GatewayV1, the all-in-one solution for Customs, Warehouse Management (WMS), Transport Management (TMS).
2008
In 2008, GatewayV2 was launched. This major release has taken you and your customer's logistics processes to a higher level. From extensive Customs Solutions, Warehouse Management System (WMS) to direct connections with, among other things, the Single Window.
2023
Today, we are "Your Leading Partner in Customs Software". We want to do what we do best: fully automating Customs processes! And we continue to innovate. You can now also use Gateway via the browser and it is also possible to host the software in the Gateway Cloud. We are continuously developing to let your company excel!
